SA: Men missing out on cholesterol-lowering drugs: study
ADELAIDE, Feb 29 AAP - Australian men from low socioeconomic backgrounds were missing
out on potentially lifesaving drugs which lower cholesterol, researchers said today.
A University of Adelaide study showed Australian men were more likely to receive prescriptions
for cholesterol-lowering drugs if they were wealthy and well educated.
And women received more cholesterol-lowering drugs than men, despite being at lower
risk of heart disease, the study revealed.
