TROY -- James V. Harley, Sr., 80, long time resident of Troy, died Tuesday after a brief illness. Born in Troy, he was son of the late Edward S. and Clara Lewis Harley, and husband of Margaret Hildebrandt Harley. He was educated at St. Francis de Sales School and Catholic Central High School, Class of 1936. He trained for the insurance business at the Life and Casualty Insurance School in New York City. Mr. Harley was office manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 43 years. He spent three plus years in the US Air Force during World War II in the European Theatre.
